THRALL 15-panel Gondola - 2000 CuFt

Thrall built 15-panel gondolas in this model configuration from Oct 1964 thru Oct 1965

Prototype roster for these cars is:
GN 78900-78999 - 100 cars - Blt 10-11/64
GN 78800-78899 - 100 cars - Blt 7-10/65
BN 559600-559698 - Former GN 78800-78899
BN 559700-559799 - Former GN 78900-78999 Note: There was a typo in our instructions: GN 78900-78999 cars were renumbered to BN 559700-559799 after the merger. Thanks to John Gillies of Australia for catching that one.

The last GN painted cars was retired in 1999. Some BN cars continue in service in 2005. During there service life cars were used to haul everything from steel, scrap iron, pulpwood and aluminum billets. Some cars in these series were equipped with “Belt rails” for hauling cable reels with wire.
