Prototype Data - CB&Q 49000-49399 series boxcar - class XM4B
This kit is for the CB&Q 50 foot exterior post double plug door boxcar in series CB&Q 49000-49399, class XM4B. These cars were built by the CB&Q Havelock, NE shops in 1966. Cars were equipped with Standard Railway Supply (R-3/4 Improved Dreadnaught ends and overhanging diagonal panel roofs). Cars were delivered in CB&Q Chinese Red. A number few of the cars were repainted into BN Green with CB&Q lettering and later into BN green. Cars where used in general merchandise and food products service.

After the BN merger, CB&Q 49000-49399 renumbered to BN 234000-234399. All CB&Q painted cars were retired by 1992. The last BN painted cars were retired by 2001.

TICHY: Part No.3062 - 18 inch grab irons (recommended, cab be replaced by 18 inch wire grab irons)
CMA: Part No. 1010 - Boxcar ladders
PLANO: Part No. 131 - Brake platform
DETAILS WEST: Part No. 1020 - Air brake details
