Prototype Data - CB&Q 24800-24899 series 50ft boxcar
This kit is for the CB&Q 50 foot all welded 50ft, 10ft sliding door, boxcar, in series CB&Q 24800-24899 (CB&Q class XML-4). These cars were built by the Burlington Havelock Shops in 1965. Cars were equipped with Standard Railway Supply (R-3/4 Improved Dreadnaught ends and overhanging diagonal panel roofs). Cars were delivered in Burlington Chinese Red. A few cars were repainted into BN green and lettered CB&Q in 1969. Cars were used in paper and general merchandise service.

After the BN merger, CB&Q 24800-24899 were renumbered to BN 316800-316899. All CB&Q painted cars were retired by 1994. The last BN painted cars were retired by 2000.
