Holding a
razor blade on an angle gently scrape the backside of the rib
comb until the surface is smooth. The backside of the rib comb
is the side with the raised lip around the rib edges. This raised
lip is what you want to scrape off with the razor blade.

Do the same for the
gondola side making sure you are scraping the side with the raised
edge.

Lightly sand the car side edges smooth.

File the edges of the
car floor.

Press the floors into
the sides.

Per the instruction
sheet your gondola should look like this with the scribed lines
on the bottom of the car.

Run some styrene cement
along the seams.

Make sure the sides
are square.

Cut the ribs
out of the carrier piece.

Here we want
to smooth the sides of the ribs. Do this by gently holding the
rib comb assembly by the top rail and using your sprue snippers
to smooth the inside of the ribs. This is best accomplished by
applying a very slight pressure and pulling away from the top
rail. Usually 3-4 passes is all that is necessary. Only pull away
from the top rail which you should be holding. Pushing the sprue
snippers will bend and break the ribs.

Align the ribs.

Apply styrene cement
to the seams.

Cut a length of .060"
x .060" styrene longer than the width of the car.

Slide weights
in between the car floors. DO NOT GLUE THE WEIGHTS IN. The styrene
and metal weight expand at different rates. Warping could occur
if the weight is glued to the plastic.

Trim the excess .060"
x .060" flush with the car sides.

Car end goes as shown.

Bolsters.

The first bolster part
is placed in between the markings on the underframe.

Strip styrene is fitted
into the notches to form the stringers.
